Racing Inspired! :Keep your makeup in tact and win on and off the track!

Want to look fresh all day at the races....in a perfect world you would have a Makeup Artist following you around, touching you up during the day. But most of us don't have that luxury....so here is a few tips to keep you looking fresher for longer...
I find makeup lasts longer if the skin is prepped and primed. Use a good moisturiser, whatever suits your skin type. You need a primer, there are so many on the market, I like Beauty Flash Balm from Clarins. It brightens the skin and gives it a nice glow. Laura Mercier Foundation Primer is another fave, its water based and enriched with vitamins to help protect against environmental elements. It feels like velvet and is suitable to all skin types. Don't forget to set your foundation with a translucent powder.
Eyes: To prime your eyelids for eyeshadow, I like to use the MAC Paint Pots. They come in a range of colours to suit your makeup and all skin tones. Just apply over the lid, powder and apply eyeshadow as usual.
Cheeks: If you apply a cream blush first then a powder it will last longer. I just love love love the By Terry sheer liquid blush. You only need to apply a little bit and it gives such a beautiful glow, and smells like roses. Then powder with either a bronzer or blush to hold it in place. I love the Nars Orgasm it works with every makeup and gives the appearance of a healthy rosy cheek.
Lips: I find all those long last lipsticks quite drying, so I just use my lip liner and colour in the whole lip. Then add the lipstick, followed by the gloss. But unfortunately eating and drinking at the races will mean that you will have to top up during the day. One Last thing I recommend.....take some blot papers with you. There are easy to carry and instead of adding powder when you get shiny they blot away shine and keep your makeup untouched, so you don't end up looking cakey!! Try the MAC blot paper or The Body Shop blot paper.  You can also just chuck them out after use. Well I hope this keeps you looking fresh at the races even though you might not feel it.!!
